THEY’VE DONE IT AGAIN!

St. Francisville chefs, Scott Varnedoe and Eric Sibley, added more hardware to their growing collection last weekend when they both took home medals from Shreveport’s annual American Red Cross Culinary Classic.  Varnedoe earned the Gold medal in the Poultry category for his Asian Cajun Trio while Sibley took home the Gold in the Wild Game category for his Quail Intuition.  Varnedoe also received two silver medals; one for the Salad category and one for second overall in the Mini Buffet category.  Sibley took home top honors by placing third overall in the Best of Show category.

This annual culinary competition was held at the Bossier City Civic Center on Monday, January 22nd, and featured chefs from restaurants throughout Louisiana.  Last year’s competition was put on hold due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, but it came back with a vengeance this year with over 60 competing chefs and 800 patrons attending the event.

Scott and Eric would like to personally thank Chef William Wells and his wife Jennifer, owners of Catering Productions in Baton Rouge, for their assistance throughout the competition and to congratulate William on his silver and bronze medals for the Poultry and Soup categories, respectively.
